Happy blogiversary to me! Yaaaaay!
Another year has gone by and Pendo La Mama is now 3! The third year has been great, but different from the first two. I didn’t post as often as I did the first two years, spent a lot more time contemplating what next? and discovering other bloggers online. I’m happy to report that there are a lot more local bloggers out there and even better, more food bloggers! So I have a lot more company… check these guys out:
[Leo Tunapika?] [Foodie in the desert] [Wendy Wahito] [Chef Raphael] [Deeper than my Kitchen] [The Underground Gourmet] [Taste of Tanzania] [Fauzia’s Kitchen Fun] [All Kenyan food recipes] [Chachi’s Kitchen] [Swahili Delicacies] [Talking to Nelly] [Kaluhi’s Kitchen]
Some of them started even before me but I’ve discovered them in the last 3 years of blogging. I think it’s awesome that there is so much more locally relevant food related content out there! Not all of them are East African, and not all are in East Africa, but I think they’re making valuable additions to the web for the East African Community as a whole.
In Other News…
I’ve had a couple of great exposures this Year that I’m truly grateful for.
The first: I was invited to do a guest post on another great local blog, A Better You. Check it out when you’re done reading this post! (^_^)
The second: I got published! (^_^) Yup, yours truly has an article in the Makumatt SmartLife Magazine! The first one was in the 3rd quarter issue. The 4th Quarter issue will also have a contribution from me. Get your copy! They are exclusive recipes so it will be a while before they show up on the website.
Most Importantly,…
I would really like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who reads this blog. Pendo La Mama started out as a much bigger personal project, intended for a very different purpose. At the time, to do what I really wanted to do would have required a crew and a lot of money. This self hosted WP site was all I could afford to start with and I’m so glad I did. Hopefully I can grow to complete the original project one day. I have really enjoyed putting up new posts and interacting with everyone. You all have been so gracious about the crazy things I do in my kitchen! I enjoy hearing from you and learning from the responses I get. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Keep cooking!
Aika
