It’s movie night!
We watch most of our movies while eating dinner. But this time he says he’s not hungry. We had a very late lunch. But I’ve never known this man to turn down a snack and I have a pack of popcorn I purchased almost a year ago! (^_^)
I stopped measuring how much oil I put a long time ago, I do it by eye. Just know that when you put in the corn it should not be completely submerged, put enough so that they look level. 1 cup of corn is plenty by the way, so start small.
Prepare a large container for putting the popcorn. While I waited for it to start popping, I started on the sweet stuff. My mother showed me to how make the popcorn and a sugar mix a long time ago. But this sugar mix is my own.
pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop! pop!
They start slow, just a few at a time, and then a lot more at a time. The pot fills up quickly but that doesn’t mean they’re done. You have to pour out the popped ones to make room and put the pot back on the fire. When they’re done, the popping reduces to a few at a time.
When the sugar is dissolved and it starts boiling it’s ready. Take it off the fire and drizzle into the popped corn
