Pineapple, cinnamon and grapes

I recently had dinner at a restaurant in Westlands. They served pineapple for dessert. It was skewered, roasted a little (I’m guessing here) and then sprinkled with a mix of cinnamon and sugar. We decided to try our own version of it.

chopping the pineapple

First we cut the pineapple to bite sized pieces. Then we put a little bit of water, some sugar, ground cinnamon and nutmeg into a frying pan and waited for it to sizzle.

sizzle sizzle!
Then we added the first batch of cut pineapple to the pan and stirred

Once the pineapple was well coated and hot enough we placed it in a bowl for serving.

Then added more water, sugar cinnamon and nutmeg as needed to the pan. We decided to add a squeeze of lime before adding in the second batch of cut pineapple just to see what difference it would make.

Mel had some grapes in her fridge, they were a very nice addition, made the colours yummy too.

I’m not a big fan of cinnamon

It was yummy, even though I didn’t taste any difference between the ones that didn’t have lime and the ones that did.
