In her own words…
I began trying out this recipe years ago while in high school. Started off combining a left over chapati and a fried egg separately to have for breakfast on Saturday mornings since they always had Chapati on Friday evening (and I love both chapatis and eggs). Then I thought to coat the chapati with the egg and fry them together. Sausage was an addition that came later on. It was just another fun thing I discovered that I could do with eggs, sausage and chapati.
This is a dish that can be had for breakfast or as a hearty snack. It can be quite filling and is a good way to use left over chapatis.
1 left over chapati
1 tsp margarine
Condiments + herbs of your choice
Once you have the chapati safely in the pan , cook for 5-8 minutes until the egg and sausage are done. Spin the chapati to ensure that it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. Lift it up at the edges to check the progress. Flip it over for 2-3 minutes to allow the other side to heat through as well. Keep spinning
still needs some experimentation to find the perfect condiment+spice combo!
Thank you Janice! (^_^)
Yes, some serious creative genius! I don’t think I could have come up with this (^_^) Looks really tasty too, brings together three things we already love; chapatis, sausages, eggs — what more can one ask for?!
