Mothers are the best ever!
She stopped by to bring me some pumpkin pie and pumpkin cake. She was experimenting. It’s her first time making both of them, she wanted to know what I thought of the results (^_^)
The cake was awesome! I didn’t ask her what other ingredients were in there but it tasted a little spiced. Perfect for tea. It also smelled nice.
The pumpkin pie was also really good. The filling was tasty. I’m wondering if she put any sweet potatoes in it (^_^)
I personally have never attempted to make pies. I’ve looked at enough recipes though. The filling always sounds easy but the crust seems like too much work. I need to ask Mama how she did her crust.
I served them for breakfast, gave me extra time to do other stuff in the house.
mama’s luv!
indeed! (^_^)
Did you find the recipe for the pumpkin cake from your mum in the end? It looks really good 🙂
Hey Rence!
Yes, I did get the recipe from my Mother, just haven’t gotten around to making it yet. Here you go:
Ingredients: 3 cups flour, 1.5 cups sugar, 3 eggs, 1 cup oil, 2 cups of mashed pumpkin (boil plain, then mash, don’t add anything), 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 tsp cinnamon powder
Mix: Beat eggs, sugar and oil, add the pumpkin and vanilla, mix. In a separate container mix flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and cinnamon. Combine the two mixes. Place in greased pan and bake for 40 minutes at 180
let me know how it goes if you try it! (^_^)
Thanks for stopping by!
